A Florida Fish and Wildlife official said that David Mannes was feeding the elephant at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus Center for Elephant Conservation near Polk City when the incident happened, the Orlando Sentinel reported. An official said that there was no mishandling and that Thursday's incident was an accident, according to the report. Mannes was transported by helicopter to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. His condition was not known. |
